Swansea University media lecturer Sian Rees receives Distinguished Teaching Award

As well as having the pleasure of watching our finalists graduating this week, we were proud to see one of our own members of staff, Sian Rees, receive a Distinguished Teaching Award from Vice-Chancellor Richard B. Davies.

Sian, a tutor in Public Relations in the Department of Languages, Translation and Media, was nominated for the prestigious award by her students, and was chosen from a field of candidates across the university to receive the award.

Sian teaches modules on public relations practice, marketing strategies and applied public relations at undergratuate and masters levels. The student nominations celebrated the variety, clarity and innovation of her teaching and the continuous connections she makes between theory and practice in her classes. They also noted that Sian herself represents a model of professional practice.

We would like to congratulate Sian on this fine achievement and to thank her for the excellence of her contribution to the department.
